Today

Today, the whole Volkswagen Group proudly operates 45 manufacturing facilities in 18 countries worldwide. A workforce that exceeds 336,000 people around the globe, producing over 21,500 vehicles per working day.

Volkswagen Group models are sold in more than 150 countries.

Several of these countries are located in the Middle East and the Gulf region, making it of immense strategic importance to us. An importance that we will demonstrate to our customers through our efforts, initiatives and communication in the months and years to come.

One of our first major projects here is the introduction of the New Passat. This New Passat is a mid-class automobile that provides both comfort and style in equal measures, distinctive with its new technology and dynamic design. The sixth generation of the best-selling series offers a wide variety of comfort features that were previously the preserve of premium segments. And a vehicle which has won numerous global titles on its design and technology.

Prospects

In addition, 2006 will see the introduction of the Jetta. The Jetta, sportier than ever will complement the range of sedans below the New Passat. The Jetta addresses customers who appreciate sporty driving properties, a generous amount of space as well as sophisticated and elegant design.

Other activities we will undertake in the short term include our participation in regional motor shows, media test-drives to give a better insight into new products, and ongoing communication with regard to local, regional and global initiatives. In Volkswagen it is our goal to deliver design innovation, precision engineering and superior technology, and above all, to ensure a state-of-the-art quality experience. Acknowledging that markets are changing significantly, our existing model strategy will have to be continuously updated to maintain the loyalty that we enjoy today. Volkswagen has and will continue to offer attractive, safe and environmentally friendly cars, which are competitive on increasingly tough markets.
